March the 8th is International Women’s Day and Chroma have played a small part in bringing this fact to the attention of the world (and, no, we don’t mean this article)…
We have built a minisite for ActionAid where women from around the world tell their often moving, sometimes harrowing and always inspirational stories through a series of videos that will be released over the coming weeks.
As well as an opportunity to share these remarkable stories, the site gives users a chance to share their messages of support, add their own story and also follow International Women’s Day tweets.
See what all the commotion is about
Nuf said!
So here it is:
Chroma are delighted to announce the launch of Comic Relief’s official Red Nose Day 2011 iPhone app.
Don’t miss a single thing this Red Nose Day, wherever you are. Keep up to date with all the latest campaign news, video footage and live updates while you’re on the move with Red Nose Day In Your Pocket iPhone App.
And Chroma have built this wicked app; lock, stock and two smoking games.
Other fantastic features include:
- A special video introduction to the app from our famous friend Mr David Tennant
- All the latest Red Nose Day News and video clips
- A brilliant Red Nose Day Pick-A-Nose game featuring Monster Red Noses and a host of celebs including Alex Zane, Denise Van Outen, Gok Wan, Jason Manford, Davina McCall and Harry Hill
- A countdown to Red Nose Day
- And a Donate feature to allow you to give generously to this great cause
Oh and the best bit… it’s absolutely FREE.
There will be updates too with more games and exclusive videos. Apple are heavily trailing the app on iTunes – so we do expect it to be a hit.
And a date for your diary – Red Nose Day 2011 is March 18.
Dear Friends of Chroma
Merry Christmas and here’s to a great New Year from everyone at Chroma. It’s been a bumper year for Chroma and in 2011 we’re planning to keep on growing and delivering ace websites and great digital products. Lots of lovely new faces are joining the team and we look forward to introducing you to them in the coming months. For now though, lift your glasses and bring on the fun!
It’s turning into an App-filled Christmas and mobile-mad 2011 for us at Chroma. We’re currently developing apps for iPhone, iPad and Android as well as creating a host of mobile sites. We’re updating the award-winning app for Racing UK as well as creating what will no doubt be one of the biggest iPhone apps of 2011. Top secret and all that – but you’ll be the first to know come the day.
Upload your picture on a never-ending digital wall and win a trip to Florida. Our good chums over at Brothers and Sisters lined us up to build a Sky Travel-inspired competition website for Busch Gardens. They’re the people behind all those great fun parks in the States. Have a look.
It was a strangely magical moment the day we went live with a Chinese version of our award-winning horseracing product, the iCard. Produced on behalf of one of the world’s largest gaming companies and with our best buds over at Racing UK, we oversaw the translation of the Press Association feed via Singapore, back to Howden in East Yorkshire, and into the Chroma office. Needless to say we expect some pretty serious levels of traffic on this. Enjoy it here.
Oh, and the iCard is now live on the Daily Star and Daily Express websites.
The European Pari Mutuel Association (EPMA) invited Chroma to speak at the 3rd Racing and Betting Business conference held in Paris on 1st October 2010.
The event was attended by 120 racing and betting delegates from around the world who were keen to understand the impact iPhone applications can have on their businesses. Read more about the conference and other presentations on the
EPMA conference website
Chroma’s Creative Director, Paul Wood, delivered the presentation entitled ‘iPhone Apps: Understanding the Technical Process’ which is available on the EPMA website and is available on our website too. Download the presentation in PDF format here.
The presentation covers the following important topics:
- iPhone, iPad and Android apps
- A brief definition of iPhone applications
- What content and features can an iPhone app contain
- Issues around naming and tagging an app in iTunes
- An introduction to the iPhone app development process
- The Apple approval process
- Paid for or free – strategies for monetising iPhone apps
- App promotion in iTunes and beyond
It was a great privilege for Chroma to be part of the 2010 EPMA conference and we hope that we were able to answer questions and illuminate the iPhone development process for those who attended it.
Our experience with developing and promoting iPhone apps such as the Racing UK iCard app has given Chroma a fantastic insight into the appetite for apps and the opportunities that exist for our clients. Interested in finding out more? Talk to us about the opportunities apps can offer you.
Expanding your business into foreign territories poses both opportunities and risks. Knowing and adhering to local laws, finding the right business partners and understanding the security situation in a world where terrorism is a constant threat is a challenge.
Risk Advisory is one of the top three companies in the world providing expert business planning advice and risk analysis for companies who wish to take their operations to new lands. Other services include Employee Screening, Compliance Due Diligence, Investigations and Litigation Support, Security Risk Management and Security in Saudi Arabia.
Chroma had the privilege of redesigning and developing their new website which went live today. The site provides clear navigation and easy access to detailed information of all Risk Advisory services. Chroma also developed the bespoke content management system, Expression Engine, which is integrated with SalesForce CRM. Visitors can also subscribe to regular topical publications by Risk Advisory from the new website.
We also implemented a comprehensive contact form on the ‘Contact’ page.
Even though the site is information intensive, the selective use of graphics and flash elements make browsing and reading a pleasure.
This was another great B2B project for Chroma to have been involved in and we look forward to monitoring the success of this site in the coming months.
