Chroma MD Paddy O’Clery was invited to the House of Commons to discuss the importance of the Creative Industries to the UK economy.
Chaired by Baroness Bonham Carter, the lively breakfast debate hosted by the Industry and Parliament Trust, saw leading industry experts discuss the merits of tax incentives for film and TV production, as well as stimulus packages for the animation and gaming world.
Introductory talks form Sara Greater, CEO, Talkback Thames and Caroline Torrance, Director of Drama, Content and Production, BBC Worldwide, set the tone for a hugely interesting and fruitful session.
Chroma pushed for the technology industries to be considered part of the creative industries and made further points that legislation and government seemed to lag behind the events in the fast-moving digital industries.
The findings of the session will be published at a later date.
